9 Broad Outcomes from the book "What Color is Your Parachute"

Response:

I am an artist, so I connected well to the photography, painting and fashion. Also, entertainment played a big part on my mind, such as the ability to make people laugh and bring joy into people's lives. The planet also plays a significant role in my life, how we all our environmentally conscience and who we are as human beings.

LASSI

Top 3 weaknesses:

1. Anxiety
2. Attitude
3. Concentration

I believe these are prioritized in the way they should be with anxiety at the top because I suffer from anxiety disorder and sometimes that affects my school work. I practice breathing and meditation techniques when I am stressed and I find them to be helpful and I can have fun with it. I mostly have a positive attitude but sometimes negativity gets in the way and I find it hard to focus on what is positive around me. To practice being positive, I will say positive sayings to myself to keep me motivated. My concentration isn't all the best because I find some of the work in school boring or I only pay attention to the classes that I like or I am interested in. To help better my concentration, I will pick out the parts of work I can do the best or am interested in first and then save the others, or vise versa.

Learning Experiences

  Reflection:

1. The incident I recall as being the most exciting and rewarding was being in musical theatre/drama class in junior high. This was important to me because it helped me grow as an actor and I learned a lot from my teachers.

2. The incident I recall as being the most disappointing was almost failing math class all throughout school; it affected my work and learning experience greatly.

3. The characteristics/behaviours of teachers that helped me learn were supportive, kind, positive an encouraging in my work. An example would be drama, music, history and english.

4. The characteristics/behaviours of teachers that I found most hindered my learning were teachers who were negative, rude, belittling and condescending. An example would be various math, gym and science teachers because I'm not so good in those classes.

5. The time I felt most valued and affirmed as a learner as when my teachers acknowledged and encouraged my success, such as in junior high and high school.

6. The times I felt most demeaned and patronized as a learner was when I was treated like a child, even though I'm an adult. An example again would be in subjects like math, gym and science or in general.

In my group, we figured out and the similarities and differences of how we were treated in school or what subjects we were all good at or not.
